POSTPONED | IR Oration in Honour of John Murray

Due to unforeseen circumstances, AIRA has decided to postpone the Annual Investor Relations Oration in Honour of John Murray, previously scheduled for 23 November 2022 in Sydney.

This event is a highlight in AIRA’s annual calendar, and we look forward to hosting it again in 2023.

However, should you be keen to network with other industry colleagues this month, please join us for the IR Forum on the 24th.  If you haven’t already registered, please click here.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

AIRA is proud to host the second Annual Investor Relations Oration in Honour of John Murray, on Wednesday 23 November.

This event, introduced into the AIRA calendar last year, honours the late John Murray, long-time head of Investor Relations at Amcor Inc, and his contribution to the IR profession, and involvement as a member, speaker, mentor, director and chairman of AIRA.

The dinner, attended by approximately 100 investor relations professionals from ASX 100 / NZX 20 companies, brings together the investor relations industry and features a guest speaker invited to speak on a contemporary topic relevant to the IR industry.

About John Murray

John was Executive General Manager, Corporate Affairs of AMCOR Limited from 1999 to 2016.

He was truly one of the greatest exponents of how investor relations should be done by a listed company.  He was highly respected by his peers, company management, and the investment community in Australia and abroad. His service and contribution to the Association, and the industry more broadly, was exceptional.

He served six years as a Director of AIRA and was Chairman from 2007 – 2009. During this time his leadership was instrumental in shaping the future of the Association, and in ensuring that its key objectives were kept relevant to members.

John sadly lost his battle with cancer in October 2016.
