STUDY PROGRAM



To fulfill the requirements of the Certified Investor Relations Officer (CIRO) program it is a pre-requisite that applicants complete three investor relations advanced professional development courses.

These online courses can be completed as part of the CIRO program or can be completed as independent courses in their own right.  Individuals who complete the courses independent of the CIRO program will accrue the study program elements should they wish to complete the CIRO program at a later date.

These core online courses are on topics that continue to be priority areas for investor relations professionals:


Course 1: ESG

 

Advanced Course 2: Beyond Compliance to Value Creation

(advanced module)

The aim of Beyond Compliance to Value Creation is to overview the strategic ESG issues facing companies.

The objectives are to:
•    Consider how ESG creates value
•    Assess investors’ views and priorities
•    Examine engagement approaches in ESG roadshows and ratings
•    Explore current governance challenges.

Learning Outcome

By the end of this session you will be able to assist company leadership in addressing the ESG risks specific to their business.

(Please note, ESG Course 1: Introduction to ESG is assumed knowledge)
 


Course 2: Continuous
Disclosure

 
 

Advanced Course 2: The Implications at "Trigger Points"  for Continuous Disclosure

(advanced module)

The aim of Continuous Disclosure 2 is to examine the implications at the trigger points for continuous disclosure.

The learning objectives are to:
•    Review the policy, intent and concepts of continuous disclosure and the ASX listing rules
•    Explore the implications of operating in a regulatory context
•    Explore the implications of being too late and facing a potential class action

Learning Outcome
By the end of this course you will be able to provide guidance internally on the requirements of the Listing Rules, policies and what is required to be ready.

Course 3: Ethics

Advanced Course 2: Ethical Leadership in the Practice of Investor Relations

(advanced module)

The aim of Ethical Leadership in the Practice of IR is to apply the ethical concepts to the corporate context.

The learning objectives are to:
•    Review the concepts and principles presented in Ethics 1: Ethical Considerations in the Practice of IR
•    Examine the proposed questions for the four groups with which IR interacts
•    Examine the benefit of the Tricker model to provide structured thinking and decision making
•    Apply the concepts to a case example
•    Overlay the foundation ethics model to the corporate context.
 
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module, you will be able to apply the concepts and principles of The IR Ethical Framework to the corporate context and corporate conduct.
